Janomot reaches MOST Bengali households in every corner of the U.K.
Janomot is the first Bengali newsweekly founded in London in 1969, In fact, it is the first ethnic minority newspaper in Britain. Janomot was the first Bengali newsweekly published outside Bangladesh. Since then, it has pioneered the British and international Bengali journalism. It has an established reputation for the quality of its journalism.At the time of the independence struggle for Bangladesh, Janomot was the only Bengali voice abroad, which provided a forum for discussion and debate on the issues affecting the Bangladeshi people. It became a mouthpiece of their aspirations.
Janomot has evolved over the years to continue to reflect the views and aspirations of the Bangladeshi people living in the U.K., as well as those living in other parts of the world. It is a forum for the community leaders and politicians to debate issues affecting the Bangladeshi people.
Janomot is also a celebrated literary platform. Since its launch, it has continued to attract writings from acclaimed journalists and authors from all over the Bengali speaking world.
We have the largest network of subscribers throughout the U.K. Many of them have been with us since the inception of the journal. Their families and friends form a core of our readership. Outside the U.K., our subscribers are in Germany, France, Spain, Austria, Australia, U.S.A, Canada, Africa and the Middle East. And indeed in Bangladesh.
